Welcome to the Forum Solutions Associate Spotlight Series: where we celebrate the remarkable professional and personal accomplishments of our associates on their work anniversaries.

Introduction:

We are proud to celebrate Shawn Martin’s 2-year anniversary with Forum Solutions. Shawn is a seasoned leader with a successful track record of orchestrating complex programs and initiatives requiring solution design and execution across people, process, and technology components. He leads, establishes, and advises his clients on transformational business initiatives, resulting in improved executive alignment, enhanced cross-functional teaming, and better delivery performance. Outside of work, Shawn enjoys cycling, pickleball, and cooking.

What Forum value/s resonate most with you and why?

The Forum value of integrity resonates the most with me. Doing what you say you are going to do. I have seen the founders and employees live out this value in the two years I have been at Forum. I think it contributes both to consistently being ranked as one of the best places to work in the Pacific Northwest and to a healthy pipeline of engagements from repeat clients.

What do you enjoy most about consulting?

I enjoy how consulting provides the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to bear at different clients and in different industries. I have been fortunate to work for great clients throughout my career. I have enjoyed how my experiences in client delivery have helped me learn and grow personally and professionally. A good portion of my consulting career has been in the technology industry, providing me with a front row seat to incredible advancements and innovations which make work that much more exciting.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy cycling, both road and mountain biking. I have also started playing a lot of pickleball over the last few years which I enjoy as a fun way to stay in shape. I like being active, so my hobbies and activities outside of work usually involve some kind of physical activity. During COVID I started cooking and I have kept that up as another way to stay healthy.

How do you give back to the greater Seattle community?

Being part of a local Seattle-based consulting firm provides the opportunity to do great work without sacrificing family and personal goals. I have been lucky enough in my career to avoid the road-warrior culture of traditional consulting. We live in such a great place with a strong regional economy which makes it ideal for a locally based consulting model. Working within this model has enabled me to volunteer for different roles related to my kid’s extracurricular activities. These volunteer experiences have helped shape my perspective on community involvement as a contributor to personal growth in addition to giving back to the community.
