Labor Day has been celebrated in the U.S. since 1894, honoring the contributions of American workers and the labor movement’s role in shaping fair working conditions. But globally, the celebration of labor takes many forms—most commonly on May 1st, known as International Workers’ Day.

Finland – Vappu Festival
On April 30th and May 1st, Finns celebrate Vappu, a blend of spring festivities and labor rights marches.
